Trophy Design & Manufacture – Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards
Background
Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year is a competition that awards outstanding business performers each year.
Started by Ernst & Young USA the awards now take place all over the world. The original USA trophies were simply the Entrepreneur Of The Year logo (above) set in a block of perspex. Ernst & Young UK wanted something more distinctive & prestigious.
Cohesive Branding
Our approach was to build on the existing graphic identity. To reinforce the overall competition identity by building on what they already had. The result was cohesive branding from letterheads & literature right through to the trophy itself.
Individuality
We used characterful cherry wood to make each trophy as unique as the individuals winning the awards. Metal work was silver or gold plated pewter with each trophy individually engraved with the winners details.
Production
Eight weeks from the go-ahead we’d started delivering weekly batches for the regional competition winners. We had refined the design concept, produced specifications & sourced component suppliers. Regional winners trophies were silver plated & overall national winners plated in gold.
